As it’s too hot to do anything that involves me being out in the sun at the moment I’ve decided to re-compile and publish the jobs list of things that need doing onboard Pleinair BEFORE I consider her ready to do any long-term and long-distance sailing. I think this is going to keep me busy for a while. 🙂
I knew there was a lot to do but this is a scary list. so here goes:
Any task listed in Green is considered as completed. Orange is currently in progress.
The jobs list – external
- full engine strip down and service.
- replace cutlass bearing.
- rebuild and replace thru-hull at transducer.
- replace hull through hulls.
- service all winches.
- service and replace where necessary, all seacocks.
- replace majority of running rigging.
- Replace Standing Rigging.
- rewire mast. complete and mast re-stepped July 2024
- change radar for digital one.
- add windlass.
- change anchor.
- build anchor bridle.
- change all external lights to LED. Bulbs in stock but won’t be added until mast is ready to step.
- alter and rebuild solar arch. (removed as of Sept 9th 22).
- re-epoxy hull.Â
- strip both keels, treat and repaint, antifoul.
- raise base of Anchor locker to stop water build up.
- obtain and/or fabricate new pushpit, incorporating the solar arch.
- replace all fenders.
- replace deck hardware on cabin top.
The Jobs List – Internal
- change internal lights to LED.
- full rewire.
- reconstruct chart table.
- install new starter battery in new location.
- change faucets at sink in galley.
- change faucet in heads.
- add pressurised water system.
- add hot water.
- obtain new, larger water tank.
- introduce a holding tank.
- replace heads.
- change battery management system.
- clean, strip and varnish galley area woodwork.
- lift cooker to clear hull when swinging on gimbals.
- create alternative battery box. (prob saloon starboard).
- re-cover engine box.
- reroute cables.
- lay in pipework for future use.
- template tanks.
